Robot-assisted radical cystectomy.
Robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) has rapidly penetrated the field of urology since its inception in 2003. Several observational studies, retrospective reports, and three randomized controlled trials (RCT) have preliminarily demonstrated the safety and efficacy of (RARC). Additionally, results from the RAZOR RCT will be available in 2016-2017 to better substantiate the use of (RARC).
متن کاملA preliminary oncologic outcome and postoperative complications in patients undergoing robot-assisted radical cystectomy: Initial experience
PURPOSE Robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) was originally intended to replace open radical cystectomy (ORC) as a minimally invasive surgery for patients with invasive bladder cancer. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the advantages of robotic surgery, comparing perioperative and oncologic outcomes between RARC and ORC. MATERIALS AND METHODS Between June 2012 and August 2016, 49 ...
متن کاملImpact of Previous Abdominal Surgery on Robot-Assisted Radical Cystectomy
OBJECTIVE We analyzed the effect of previous abdominal surgery (PAS) on consecutive patients who underwent robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC). MATERIALS AND METHODS From 2005 to 2008, 73 patients at a single institution underwent RARC with bilateral extended pelvic lymph node dissection and urinary diversion. Lysis of adhesions was performed robotically and laparoscopically. Records wer...
متن کاملImpact of Body Mass Index on Robot-Assisted Radical Cystectomy
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Obesity is a major comorbidity in the Western world and influences outcomes of patient care. A minimally invasive approach towards radical cystectomy has been increasing in popularity. We sought to determine the influence of body mass index (BMI) on robot-assisted radical cystectomy. METHODS Fifty-one consecutive patients underwent robot-assisted radical cystectomy f...
متن کاملLeft Subclavian Artery Occlusion: Femoro-Axillary Artery Retrograde Bypass
The treatment tactics for subclavian artery occlusion include the more commonly used endovascular therapy rather than surgical intervention. We present a case of a 61-year-old woman with dialysis-dependent chronic renal failure who experienced left finger necrosis in the left upper extremity. To salvage the limb, we performed femoro-axillary (fem-ax) artery bypass using an autologous saphenous ...
